Dr Margaret Ormiston is on the faculty in Organisational Behaviour at London Business School. She received her doctorate in Business Administration and Industrial Relations from University of California, Berkeley.

Her research examines the underlying psychological processes that influence teams and organisational performance in small groups as well as top management. To conduct such analyses she utilizes at-a-distance measures such as CEO facial structure, demographic characteristics of the top management team and codings of interviews and speeches. Margaret’s research is published in academic outlets such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Psychological Science, as well as discussed by news outlets such as Time Magazine, Fast Company, Forbes and National Public Radio.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations).
